Sometimes success may not happen or it comes with limited results due to shortcomings in planning, execution or goal setting. During this event, Dr. Khaled El-Maleh, Senior Director of Technology, Qualcomm, will share some personal thoughts and industry experiences related to achieving impactful success. He will cover examples from career management, technology innovation, and entrepreneurship. His talk will be followed by a networking reception to connect young professionals and industry professionals to exchange ideas, share resources, and discuss careers and entrepreneurship in a casual setting.

Speaker's Bio:

Khaled El-Maleh is a Senior Director of Technology in the IP Department of Qualcomm leading the Sensors+ IP Portfolio Team, Multimedia Technology Team, and related IP Strategy areas. Dr. El-Maleh’s areas of expertise and interests include: design, implementation and quality evaluation of multimedia systems, sensors technologies, data mining, human-computer interfaces, computer vision applications, talent management, innovation and industry-university technology transfer. He is a technologist and strategist with focus on entrepreneurship & Innovation.

Khaled joined Qualcomm in 2000 as a Senior Engineer working on multimedia technology in Qualcomm Chip Business (QCT). Khaled received Double Majors Bachelor degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering and in Applied Math from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals of Saudi Arabia, and M. Eng. and PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from McGill University, Canada. He is an accomplished inventor with more than 200 US and international patents. He was awarded Qualcomm Career Thought Leadership Award in 2009, and the IP Department 2013 Distinguished Contributor Award.

Khaled is a member of the IEEE SPS Conference Board, the Executive Advisory Board of University of San Diego Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering, and the Advisory Board of Alliant University California School of Management and Leadership.
